Practical, realistic, and mission-focused training built to help handlers, first responders, and agency personnel provide immediate care to injured working canines.

K9 Awareness Responder is a 4-hour introductory course designed for first responders, public safety personnel, agency leaders, and support staff who may encounter or assist with an injured operational canine.
This awareness-level course provides a practical overview of emergency care considerations for working dogs — including how to recognize common injuries and medical emergencies, support the handler, assist with safe movement and transport, and understand when advanced care or veterinary intervention is needed.
Ideal for agencies looking to introduce personnel to K9 emergency care, improve scene awareness, and build confidence when supporting injured law enforcement, search and rescue, fire/EMS, or military working dogs.
Best fit for: Fire/EMS, law enforcement, SAR teams, dispatchers, agency leadership, public safety support personnel, and organizations wanting an introduction to operational K9 emergency response.

K9 First Responder is the flagship course of the Operational Canine Foundation. This 8-hour, field-focused training course is designed for first responders, handlers, and agency personnel who may be responsible for caring for an injured operational canine before veterinary care is available.
The course blends classroom instruction, hands-on skills, and realistic field-based scenarios — practical emergency care concepts applicable during training, deployment, public safety operations, or routine agency activities.
Built for: Fire and EMS personnel, law enforcement officers, K9 handlers, search and rescue personnel, tactical and public safety teams, emergency management personnel, and anyone who may assist with injured operational canines in the field.

K9 Tactical First Responder is an 8-hour, hands-on training course designed for law enforcement officers, SWAT operators, K9 handlers, tactical medics, and public safety personnel responsible for caring for an injured working canine during a tactical operation.
Using the MARCH/PAWS concept, students learn to assess, stabilize, treat, package, and evacuate an injured operational canine while operating in a high-risk environment.
Built for: Law enforcement K9 handlers, SWAT operators, tactical medics, police officers on tactical teams, Fire/EMS supporting law enforcement, and SAR personnel operating with working K9s.
