We exist to close the gap between K9 injury and advanced veterinary care — through training, education, and direct support for working dog teams nationwide.
The Operational Canine Foundation was created to support the working dogs who serve our communities and the people who serve beside them.
Operational K9s work in demanding environments across law enforcement, fire, EMS, search and rescue, military, and emergency response. These dogs are more than tools or assets. They are partners, teammates, and lifesaving resources.
When a working canine is injured, the first few minutes can make a critical difference. In many situations, handlers and first responders may be the only immediate care available before the dog can reach advanced veterinary treatment.
The Operational Canine Foundation exists to close that gap. Through hands-on training, education, trauma supply support, scholarships, and agency partnerships, we help prepare K9 teams to respond when every second counts.

Through dedicated training, education, and support, we're making a real difference for working canine teams across the country.

A working dog may be injured during a deployment, training evolution, search operation, tactical incident, disaster response, or routine assignment. Immediate care can help stabilize the canine, reduce preventable death, and give the dog the best possible chance of survival.
Our goal is simple: equip the people closest to the K9 with the knowledge, confidence, and resources to act when it matters most.
